Hi I am Hai :wave:,

I am a PhD student 🤓 based in London :uk:. I have extensive data analysis experience both inside and outside of academia (6+ years). From sequencing pathogens 🦠 and mutating worms :microscope: to analysing babies 🧠 scans, I have always enjoyed the interdisciplinary environment and the process of challenging myself to new things. Outside of work, I enjoy lifting 🏋️‍♂️, reading and listening to comedy podcasts.

Characterising abnormal brain development in babies using structural MRI and genetics data.

  • Awarded a competitive scholarship to pursue doctoral research for 4 years.
  • Implemented statistical models to complex imaging and genetic dataset to extract novel insights in the field of early life psychiatry.
  • Regularly presented findings in weekly lab meetings and in international conferences.

  • Part of the COVID-19 International Surveillance Team responsible for identifiying emergence of novel coronavirus strains.
  • Proposed tools to enhance data acquistion from mutliple sources and novel data visualisation tecniques to improve data analysis process.

  • Led weekly tutorials on basics of Python programming and neuroscience for over 100 bachelor’s and master’s students every year.
  • Independently devised and conducted monthly workshops on deep learning concepts and applications with minimal coding for over 30 students of non-technical background, resulting in 3-fold increase in workshop attendance the following year.
